Located on a hobby farm at Hordon Vale in Southern Victoria, this small weekender was designed to afford spectacular views over the Southern Ocean whilst scooping north sun and light in from the opposite direction facing towards the Otway Ranges. In response to the client wanting to keep the sheep and cattle away from the house, a white vertical timber battened screen was wrapped around the house like a scarf to form at once, the external cladding, a kind of white picket fence that encloses the central courtyard, and a series of shutters that can be closed during wild weather or when the owners leave to return to the city.
